Geriatric Orthopedic Problems

People live longer, healthier and stay very active for years to come. Musculoskeletal disorders are very common in older adults and can affect function and quality of life. Such conditions include arthritic joints, fragility fractures, musculoskeletal infections, torn tendons, and spinal and peripheral nerve disorders.

My Approach

Many elderly patients seek musculoskeletal care to improve their function and quality of life. The health and physiological states of older adults have an enormous heterogeneity that must be carefully considered when providing musculoskeletal care.
